City responds to problems in bus services on lines F and FM
The city of Darmstadt has temporarily implemented a one-sided no-stopping zone on the street "Im Harras" in the Waldkolonie district. The affected section is between Staudingerstraße and Kölner Straße on the eastern side of the street.
Bus services have been disrupted several times recently
As transport commissioner Paul Georg Wandrey reports, there have recently been repeated significant disruptions on bus lines F and FM. At times, the "Kölner Straße" and "Im Harras" stops could not be served in the direction towards the city center.
The main cause is the strained parking situation in the adjacent industrial park – especially during events. Vehicles are then parked along the street, making it impossible for buses to pass each other.
Safety and reliability are the focus
To make matters worse, the buses enter the affected area from a curve. As a result, parked vehicles are often only noticed at the last minute. The city has been alerted to the situation by both residents and HEAG mobilo.
The no-stopping zone is intended to create clear conditions so that bus services can run reliably again. The city police have announced that they will be stepping up enforcement of the new regulation.
