Around 50 volunteers collected waste from public areas despite the rain
During a litter collection campaign in Seeheim-Jugenheim on October 17th, around 50 volunteers filled two truck beds with waste. Mayor Birgit Kannegießer had invited residents to participate in the community cleanup as part of a district-wide initiative.
For three hours, volunteers, including children, collected cigarette butts, broken glass, and larger items such as mattresses, asbestos flowerpots, and cardboard boxes from public areas. The collected trash was picked up at pre-arranged locations and taken to the depot.
Afterwards, the participants gathered for a hot soup. Kannegießer thanked them for their efforts, which they had made despite the continuing rain.
