Focus on social, educational and health professions
The study programs focus on the so-called SAGE fields of social work, health, and education. According to the university, the degree programs combine academic content with practical training.
“We are delighted about everyone who has decided to study with us and wants to take on responsibility in the social, educational and health sectors,” says Prof. Dr. Laura Wallner, Vice President for Studies and Teaching.
The university aims to combine academic training with engagement with societal issues. A key focus is on the exchange between students and lecturers, as well as between theory and professional practice.
The university was formed from a merger
The Protestant University of Applied Sciences of Hesse emerged from the merger of the former Protestant University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt and the YMCA University of Applied Sciences Kassel . In addition to Darmstadt and Kassel, Schwalmstadt-Treysa is one of its study locations.
