Senior citizens' office, VdK and police offer tips for greater safety in everyday life
The Griesheim Senior Citizens' Office, together with the Griesheim branch of the VdK (Association of Socially Disadvantaged People), invites you to a free rollator training session. The event will take place on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. in Meeting Room C of the Griesheim Town Hall.
Traveling safely with a rollator
The training is led by Daniela Raab, traffic safety advisor at the South Hesse Police Headquarters in the area of traffic prevention. Participants receive practical tips and exercises for using a rollator safely and confidently in everyday life.
For many people, a rollator is an important aid that enables mobility, independence, and social participation. However, curbs, uneven paths, slopes, or crossing streets can pose challenges. Uncertainty in handling the rollator often leads to falls or dangerous situations.
Practical exercises and valuable tips
During the training, participants learn, among other things, how to properly adjust a rollator, how to use the brakes correctly, and how to safely overcome obstacles. Furthermore, typical hazardous situations in road traffic are explained, and practical solutions are demonstrated.
The aim of the event is to increase safety in everyday life, prevent falls and strengthen confidence in one's own mobility.
Participants should bring their own rollator
Participation in the training is free of charge. Those interested are asked to bring their own rollator so that the exercises can be performed directly with their familiar aid.
The senior citizens' office of the city of Griesheim, the VdK local branch Griesheim and the police headquarters of South Hesse look forward to welcoming numerous participants.
