24 young people from Riedstadt and the surrounding area experience varied days in the Vosges Mountains
A canoe trip, mountain hike, swimming excursion, and visits to some of Alsace's most famous cities have brought an eventful summer holiday to a close for 24 teenagers and young adults. The Riedstadt Youth Office, in cooperation with the Auszeit association and the Gernsheim Youth Services, organized the teen retreat at the end of the summer holidays.
The participants were young people from Riedstadt, Gernsheim, Biebesheim, and Stockstadt. Their accommodation and base for their activities was the Oberlinhaus in La Vancelle in the Vosges Mountains. From there, the group explored the region.
Canoeing on the Ill
A canoe trip on the Ill River provided a welcome change of pace. Excursions to Riquewihr, Colmar, and Strasbourg were also on the agenda, allowing participants to experience different facets of Alsace.
Nature and physical activity were also important during their free time. One hike took the group to the Hohneck, at 1,363 meters one of the highest mountains in the Vosges. The young people also took another trip to a lake near Wittisheim for a swim.
In addition to the scheduled program, there was ample free time for relaxation and shared activities at the accommodation. This combined leisure time with nature experiences, sporting activities, and excursions, as well as time for socializing.
The Riedstadt Youth Office offers the adventure leisure activity in cooperation with the Auszeit association and the Gernsheim Youth Welfare Office.
