The Helene Gröninger Civic Foundation is donating a bench to the sports club. The "Summit of Memories" will bring together a total of 2,592 years of life experience.
To mark its 75th anniversary this summer, the DJK Sportclub Concordia Pfungstadt received a bench from the Helene Gröninger Citizens' Foundation. The idea came to club chairwoman Nicole Sperber at an anniversary celebration of the Pfungstadt Angling Club, where a bench had been erected in honor of the founding members. As a token of gratitude for the gift, Concordia invited the foundation's chairman, Manfred Gröninger, for coffee and cake.
2,592 years of life in one afternoon
Old photo albums, brochures, and stories from hikes they had shared were brought by long-standing members to the "Summit of Memories" on October 31st. Over coffee and cake, they also tallied their combined ages. According to the club, this resulted in a total of 2,592 years of life experience.
Sperber got the idea for the reunion during a visit to the widow of a club member. The couple had hiked with Concordia for many years and helped with the organization. The reunion also brought together members who participate less frequently in club activities these days. Another meeting is planned for 2027.

On Friday, October 30th, the neighboring club FTG made a last-minute inquiry about whether their team could warm up there. Concordia agreed. The team then trained at FTG's facilities before their 2.
