Soil investigations for the new railway line will cause narrowed lanes until the end of March – Pfungstadt on-ramp will be temporarily closed
on the A67 motorway between the Darmstadt interchange and the Pfungstadt exit should expect traffic restrictions starting Sunday, October 4th. This is due to soil investigations being carried out in connection with the planned new Frankfurt–Mannheim railway line.
DB InfraGO is conducting exploratory drilling on the motorway section in both directions. The aim is to investigate the structure and properties of the roadbed and the underlying soil.
Two narrowed lanes until the end of March
From Sunday, October 4, 2026, around 8 p.m., until approximately the end of March 2027, traffic in both directions will be routed past the construction site on two narrowed lanes in each direction.
Additional restrictions will be in place at the Pfungstadt interchange in October. The on-ramp to the A67 in the direction of Darmstadt will be closed from Sunday, October 4th, around 8 p.m., until Tuesday, October 20th, around 6 a.m.
Diversion via A5 or Gernsheim
A detour will be set up for the closed on-ramp. Motorists can take the B426 to the Gernsheim interchange to the south and then access the A67.
Alternatively, the detour leads via the B426 to the Eberstadt junction on the A5.
