The closure on Nieder-Modauer Weg will be lifted on August 7th – the federal government is investing around 300,000 euros
Good news for motorists in Ober-Ramstadt: The renovation of the bridge over Nieder-Modauer Weg on the B 426 federal highway, , will be completed ahead of schedule. According to Hessen Mobil, the partial closure of the highway will be on Friday, August 7th, during the course of the day.
The repairs became necessary after damage and defects were discovered on the bridge during a routine structural inspection. The aim of the work was to ensure the long-term durability and traffic safety of the structure.
As part of the renovation, the road joints were completely renewed. This required removing the mastic asphalt from the road surface and replacing the joint structures with new asphalt. The bridge also received a new road surface.
In addition, the drainage channel and all transverse and longitudinal joints were renewed. The railing also received a new coat of paint, while guardrails and seals were replaced.
On the underside of the bridge, specialists sealed existing cracks and repaired damaged concrete surfaces. Additionally, the embankment steps were renovated and the road inlets were cleaned.
The construction costs amount to approximately 300,000 euros and are being borne by the federal government.
