The Science Fiction Club Darmstadt invites you to Eppertshausen on September 5th
The Darmstadt Science Fiction Club invites you to an evening reading with author Cliff Allister on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The focus will be on the first volume of his new science fiction novel series, "The Visitor." The reading will begin around 8 p.m. in the hall of the "Adebar" restaurant in Eppertshausen. Admission is free.
The event takes place as part of the monthly meeting of the Science Fiction Club. This begins at 6 p.m. in the TAV Hall, Jahnstraße 2. A separate room will be available for the reading.
An unknown object is heading towards Earth
In "The Visitor," Cliff Allister creates a future scenario set more than a century after the near-total annihilation of humanity. In 2076, a massive asteroid struck Earth. 109 years later, two billion people once again inhabit the planet. Raw materials are now primarily extracted from the asteroid belt.
The perceived safety ends when astronomers discover a massive celestial body approaching the inner solar system. As the object changes course and heads directly for Earth, there are strong indications that it is no ordinary object.
The two experimental spaceships Hyperion and Theia are dispatched to investigate the object. Hyperion's captain, Michael Sinclair, finds himself at odds not only with the unknown "visitor" but also with conflicting interests within his own crew.
Cliff Allister has been writing science fiction since 2014
Cliff Allister is the pseudonym of a German writer who has lived abroad for many years. After stints in Africa, the Caribbean, and Egypt, among other places, he has lived near Paphos in Cyprus since 2017.
According to his own account, his enthusiasm for science fiction began in his youth, influenced by the television series "Raumpatrouille" and his acquaintance with Karl-Herbert Scheer, one of the co-founders of the Perry Rhodan series. Allister has been publishing his own science fiction novels and novel series since 2014.
Reading as a "special event"
The reading evening is part of the "Special Event" series, which the Darmstadt Science Fiction Club organizes at irregular intervals in cooperation with the Science Fiction Club Germany (SFCD) and other partners. In addition to readings, the concept also includes lectures and other events related to fantasy literature.
The events take place in a separate room parallel to the regular meeting and usually last between 45 and 60 minutes.
