Donations for the forest art trail are still possible until July 20th
There are still about six weeks until the start of the 13th International Forest Art Biennale in Darmstadt. But the first artwork can already be viewed: near the forest submarine, the Italian artist Emanuella Camacci has erected her "Space Time Capsule". The delicate wooden shelter invites visitors to linger and pause.
"Democratic Forest" featuring art from 16 countries
This year's Forest Art Biennale is themed "Democratic Forest". From August 22 to October 4, 2026, 30 artists from 16 countries will present their work. In addition to the Forest Art Trail at Böllenfalltor, the International Forest Art Center at Ludwigshöhstraße 137 and the Messel Pit will also be included in the Biennale.
The program ranges from installations and performances to lectures and concerts, as well as digital art objects. "Our goal is to give a voice to the forest and nature," explains curator Ute Ritschel. The Biennale is also part of the international design year World Design Capital Frankfurt RheinMain 2026.
Crowdfunding runs until July 20th
The Association for International Forest Art (Verein für Internationale Waldkunst e. V.) relies on financial support to organize the Forest Art Biennale. For the first time, forest art enthusiasts can contribute to the financing through a crowdfunding campaign. Donations of any amount are welcome.
The goal is 25,000 eurosby July 20th .
