The networking meeting brings together around 60 active members from associations, initiatives and specialist agencies
Around 60 participants sent a strong message in support of democracy, human dignity, and diversity at a networking meeting held at the Groß-Gerau district office. The event was hosted by the Department for Combating Right-Wing Extremism and Racism . The evening focused on exchange, visibility, and a shared stance against discrimination. In his welcoming address, First County Councillor Adil Oyan the importance of civil society vigilance: “Right-wing extremist ideologies and discriminatory language are creeping into everyday life. We must counter this with conviction and solidarity.”
Shared network, shared goal
Sedef Yıldız, head of the Office for Integration, presented the network against right-wing extremism and racism , which has been doing dedicated work for ten years. "We are united by the goal of protecting our democratic values and embracing diversity," said Yıldız.
Participants exchanged ideas during a "Meet & Greet" and a gallery walk , where numerous initiatives, alliances, and specialist agencies presented themselves. The program was complemented by two discussion sessions on the topics of democratic education and regular networking.
"The evening showed how much commitment there is in the Groß-Gerau district. It was a clear signal of solidarity and democratic cohesion," Yıldız summarized.
Broad participation from civil society and administration
Among those who participated in the meeting were:
- Alliances and associations such as the Action Alliance against Right-Wing Extremism Groß-Gerau, "We All for Democracy" Biebesheim, Association Without Borders Büttelborn, the Grandmothers Against the Right, the Initiative Together in the Mainspitze, the Protestant Center for Intercultural Education (EZIB) and many more.
- Church-affiliated organizations, schools and foundations such as the Protestant deanery, the Catholic Church in the district, the Margit Horváth Foundation or the Old Synagogue Foundation.
- Municipal specialist agencies from the district and the cities, including the DEXT offices, integration offices, school social work, women's offices, youth education center and the KVHS Groß-Gerau.
