ENTEGA NATURpur Institute supports sustainable modernization with almost 4,000 euros
The nature conservation barn at Reinheim Pond has undergone energy-efficient and technical upgrades in recent weeks. Thanks to a donation of almost €4,000 from ENTEGA NATURpur Institut gGmbH, the existing lighting was replaced with modern LED technology and two solar power systems with storage were installed. The work was carried out by employees of the town of Reinheim and members of the Reinheim Pond Nature Reserve working group.
These measures are intended to reduce the energy consumption of the nature conservation barn. At the same time, the facility will be able to cover part of its electricity needs itself through solar energy in the future.
New LED lighting and two solar power plants
The financial support went to the Reinheimer Teich Nature Reserve Foundation, which used it to procure the necessary materials for the modernization.
The focus was on two measures: converting the existing lighting to energy-saving LED technology and installing two solar power plants with storage.
The new lighting is intended to reduce the facility's electricity consumption. Furthermore, the solar panels will allow some of the required energy to be generated and stored directly on site.
This will make the nature conservation barn less dependent on externally sourced electricity and allow it to reduce its ongoing energy consumption.
Volunteers and city employees are handling the installation
In addition to the financial support from ENTEGA, the personal commitment of those involved also played an important role.
Employees of the city of Reinheim and members of the Reinheimer Teich nature reserve working group undertook the installation of the new technology themselves.
The Reinheimer Teich Nature Reserve Foundation took care of procuring the materials. This collaboration allowed the funds to be used specifically for the technical equipment.
Mayor Feick thanks everyone for their support
During the handover of the donation letter by Philip Krämer, Managing Director of ENTEGA NATURpur Institut gGmbH, Mayor Manuel Feick thanked all those involved.
“My sincere thanks go to the ENTEGA NATURpur Institute gGmbH for the generous donation. It is wonderful to see when commitment to nature conservation becomes so concrete and makes a difference locally. The support helps us to make the nature conservation barn more sustainable,” explained Feick.
He also expressed his gratitude to the foundation for procuring the materials, as well as to the city employees and the Reinheimer Teich nature reserve working group who undertook the installation.
Nature conservation barn as a place for environmental work
The nature conservation barn is an important location for practical nature and environmental work at the Reinheim pond.
It supports the activities surrounding the nature reserve and at the same time stands for a responsible approach to natural resources.
The new technical equipment is intended to enable the facility to operate more sustainably in the long term. The combination of energy-saving lighting and on-site power generation is a further step towards reducing energy consumption.
The city of Reinheim sees the project as an example of how financial support, municipal assistance and voluntary commitment can jointly contribute to nature and climate protection.
