Sports clubs, politicians and administrators are discussing the future of sports
How should sport in Darmstadt develop in the future? What challenges do clubs face, and how can cooperation between sport, politics, and administration be strengthened? These questions were the focus of the Darmstadt Club Forum, which took place on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at the ENTEGA premises.
Numerous representatives of Darmstadt's sports clubs, as well as members of the sports commission and the committee for sport and diversity, used the event to exchange ideas, make contacts and talk about current topics in sports in Darmstadt.
A key focus of the evening was the presentation of initial findings from the integrative sports development report, which is due to be published shortly.
Exchange between sports clubs and the city
The forum for sports clubs was opened by Mayor and Head of Sports Hanno Benz. He welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of direct dialogue with Darmstadt's sports clubs.
The club forum serves as a central platform for networking within the local sports community. It enables clubs to exchange experiences, discuss common interests, and forge new contacts.
At the same time, the event offers an opportunity to talk directly with representatives from politics and sports administration.
This is intended to strengthen cooperation between the various stakeholders in Darmstadt sports.
First results of the sports development report presented
The focus of this year's club forum was the presentation of initial results from the integrative sports development report.
The report is intended to provide important foundations and impetus for the future development of sports in Darmstadt.
The full results are not yet publicly available. According to the city of science, the report will be published soon.
This could allow the findings to serve as a basis for further discussions and decisions regarding sports development in Darmstadt.
Strengthening networking and collaboration
In addition to the presentation of the sports development report, the club forum offered ample opportunity for personal discussions.
The participants were able to contribute experiences from their club work, discuss new ideas and deepen contacts with other sports clubs and the city administration.
The science city of Darmstadt considers the exchange an important contribution to the further development of a diverse and sustainable sports landscape.
The club forum is intended to promote dialogue between sports clubs, politicians and the sports office in the future.
