City administration launches eye-catching recruiting campaign with buses covered in advertisements
The district town of Groß-Gerau is taking a new approach in the fight against the skilled worker shortage: Two LNVG buses are now advertising careers with the slogan "Get on board and join us." The buses are traveling throughout the district and feature a large-scale photo collage showcasing the diverse range of professions within the town administration and its municipal enterprises.
“The city is a modern and diverse employer. We want to communicate this to the outside world – and buses that travel daily throughout the entire district are an ideal mobile advertising medium,” said Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau. With over 550 employees – including numerous trainees and vocational school interns – the city of Groß-Gerau offers diverse career opportunities, particularly in social and educational services.
The idea for bus advertising was approved back in 2024 and does not burden the current budget. The project was implemented in cooperation with SD VerkehrsMedien Hessen GmbH. The personnel department sees the measure as a targeted way to generate more awareness for job postings despite limited resources. "Given reduced spending on online portals, we are focusing more on social media, our careers page, and now this high-profile bus campaign," the administration stated.
The city of Groß-Gerau is also regularly represented at training fairs and actively recruits staff through various channels.
