Darmstadt's city leaders invite you to a direct exchange on October 28th
What developments are planned for Eberstadt, where are the problems, and what are the residents' wishes for their district? Citizens can discuss these questions directly with Darmstadt's city leaders on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. The Eberstadt district forum will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Gutenbergschule, Gabelsbergerstraße 4–8.
Mayor Hanno Benz and other members of the city council will provide information about current projects in Eberstadt and will be available to answer questions, receive suggestions, and address concerns. No prior registration is required to attend.
The mayor and city councilors will answer questions
At the district forum, citizens have the opportunity to directly address their concerns to the city officials.
In addition to Mayor Hanno Benz, City Councillor Michael Kolmer, City Treasurer André Schellenberg, and City Councillors Holger Klötzner and Paul Georg Wandrey are participating in the event.
They want to provide information about current developments and ongoing projects in Eberstadt and find out where the population sees a need for improvement.
This is not just about specific problems, but also about ideas and suggestions for the future development of the district.
Concerns and ideas from Eberstadt are welcome
Mayor Hanno Benz emphasizes the importance of the commitment of the local people.
“Eberstadt thrives on people who care: in the clubs, in the neighborhood, in the shops,” explains Benz.
The city wants to hear from these people and find out where they could be better supported. The goal is to facilitate a constructive exchange between citizens, politicians, and the administration.
The district forum is intended to provide an opportunity to address topics that directly affect the everyday lives of people in Eberstadt.
Questions can be submitted in advance
Anyone who already has a specific request can submit it to the city administration in advance.
Questions, requests and suggestions can be sent by email to buergerbeauftragte@darmstadt.de until Monday, October 26, 2026
Alternatively, written requests can be submitted in the town hall foyer.
Prior registration for the neighborhood forum is not required. Interested individuals can participate in the event even without submitting a proposal beforehand.
Further public dialogues are planned until the end of the year
The Eberstadt district forum marks the start of a series of five further participation events, which are scheduled to take place by the end of 2026.
The science city of Darmstadt aims to continue the exchange between the population and the city administration through various dialogue formats in the city districts and in the digital space.
“Direct interaction with people is of particular value for our work – this has been clearly demonstrated by the events held so far this year,” explains Mayor Benz.
The concerns of the citizens will also be the focus of future events.
