US singer-songwriter brings energy, temperament and attitude
The multi-Grammy-nominated US singer-songwriter SONiA disappear fear returns to Darmstadt! On Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 8:00 p.m., she will give a concert at the Bessunger Knabenschule – as part of the popular Americana concert series.
“She’s a crowd favorite and is bringing the spring sunshine back to Darmstadt,” says Americana curator Thomas Waldherr. SONiA stands for a unique blend of social engagement and musical entertainment. Her music conveys clear messages against homophobia, racism, and violence, wrapped in catchy folk-rock melodies.

Music with attitude – folk, rock and clear messages
SONiA disappear fear is Bob Dylan's cousin, but musically she was particularly influenced by his contemporary Phil Ochs . Her trademark is high-energy performances, imbued with passion, social awareness, and a clear political stance.
For years, the artist has been committed to human rights, including the release of Turkish singer Nudem Durak, who was imprisoned because of her Kurdish songs. She also raises her voice in current crises: she advocates for peace in Ukraine and against terror and war in the Middle East.
