A song recital combines music by Johannes Brahms with discussions about art
Under the title "We Love Brahms," will perform at Braunshardt Castle on Friday, September 11, 2026.The recital, part of the "Listen in the Monument" series, begins at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7:30 p.m.
Soprano Daniela Grundmann and pianist Brigitte Becker will dedicate this evening to selected songs by Johannes Brahms. However, the program will not be limited to musical interpretation: the two artists will also discuss their personal relationship to Brahms and his work.
More than a classic song recital
The program connects music with questions about the social standing of artists. It addresses topics such as attention and fame, but also artists who, despite their work, receive little public recognition. These themes are explored in relation to the life and work of Johannes Brahms.
“We Love Brahms” premiered in 2022 and has been performed by Grundmann and Becker ever since. The Mannheim Music Stage describes the program itself as “anything but an ordinary song recital.”.
Admission costs 10 euros. Tickets are available at the Weiterstadt town hall.
