From September 11th, the EPES gallery will present the first solo exhibition of the Swiss artist in Germany
The EPES Gallery in Darmstadt will present the exhibition "Awakening in Color" by Antonio Wehrli from Friday, September 11, 2026. It is the Swiss artist's first solo exhibition in Germany. The opening reception begins at 7 p.m.
The exhibition focuses on the series "Centrifugal" and "Gravity Germania." In these works, Wehrli combines color and movement with various physical processes. In the "Centrifugal" series, he uses centrifugal force in the creation process of his paintings.
Antonio Wehrli combines copperplate engravings and acrylic paints
In his series "Gravity Germania," Antonio Wehrli takes historical German copperplate engravings and reworks them with vibrant acrylic paints. In this way, historical motifs and contemporary painting meet.
Wehrli was born in Zurich and lives and works in Glarus, Switzerland, and Chengdu, China. He understands color as an expression of openness, communication, and peace. His artistic motto is: "Turn your life colorful!"
With “Awakening in Color”, his works can now be seen for the first time in a solo exhibition in Germany.
