Roadworks from October 26th to November 13th with bus diversions
Motorists and public transport passengers in Darmstadt should expect disruptions: Roßdörfer Straße will be completely closed between Heidenreichstraße and Wilhelm-Jäger-Straße from Monday, October 26, 2026. This is due to extensive roadworks, which are expected to last until Friday, November 13.
The city of Darmstadt is renewing the roadway and the bus stop on Heidenreichstraße in this section. The work is part of the city's 2026 road rehabilitation program.
The road surface and bus stop will be renewed
As part of the construction project, the existing asphalt surface layer will first be milled off and then replaced with a new road surface.
Extensive work is planned in the area of the Heidenreichstraße bus stop. The road surface there will be completely reconstructed.
In addition, the drainage systems and other road infrastructure will be renewed.
According to the city, the total cost of the project amounts to approximately 110,000 euros gross.
Full closure and diversion via Heinrichstrasse
During the entire construction period, the affected section of Roßdörfer Straße will be completely closed to traffic.
Motor vehicle traffic will be diverted via Nieder-Ramstädter Straße and Heinrichstraße.
The properties of residents affected by the construction site will remain accessible on foot. The city informed the residents about the planned work in advance.
Four bus stops will be relocated
Public transport is also affected by the roadworks. From Monday, October 26, several bus stops will be temporarily relocated.
The bus stops “Beckstraße”, “Heidenreichstraße” and “Breslauer Platz” are located in Heinrichstraße during the construction work.
The "Roßdörfer Platz" bus stop will be relocated to Nieder-Ramstädter Straße.
Passengers should take the changed stop locations into account when planning their journeys.
Work is expected to be completed by mid-November
According to the current schedule, the roadworks are to be completed on Friday, November 13, 2026.
Until then, road users in the affected area must expect the complete closure and the changed bus connections.
