Residenz Festival changes program – “Sound Worlds of Romanticism” is cancelled
The Darmstadt Residence Festival is responding to high demand for its Italian Opera Night by adding an extra concert at short notice. After the originally planned performance sold out approximately two weeks in advance, the opera gala will now be again on Friday, August 7th, at 8:30 pm on the open-air stage at Mathildenhöhe.
The originally scheduled program "Soundscapes of Romanticism" for this evening has been cancelled to accommodate the additional concert . According to the festival management, this change is necessary for organizational reasons, as the additional concert can only take place on this date.
Verdi is the focus
Both the additional concert and the already sold-out opera night are dedicated to the Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi, whose death anniversary is being commemorated for the 125th time this year. The program features highlights from his operatic works.

The soloists Eva Bernard , André Khamasmie , Martin Berner , and Pedro Ometto will perform . Christoph Demian will host the evening . The singers will be accompanied by the Darmstadt Concert Choir and the Darmstadt Court Orchestra under the musical direction of Wolfgang Seeliger .
Tickets already purchased remain valid
Visitors who have already purchased tickets for the originally planned concert "Soundscapes of Romanticism" can use them for the additional concert without exchange. Those wishing to return their tickets can obtain information from the festival office.
Tickets for the additional concert are now available at the usual ticket outlets and via the Darmstadt Residenzfestspiele website.
