The city marks Bisexual Visibility Day on September 23 – flags will remain flying until Thursday
To mark Bisexual Visibility Day, the city of Darmstadt has raised the bisexual flag in Luisenplatz. It will remain there until Thursday, September 24.The international day of action is observed annually on September 23.
The city stated that the flag display is intended to raise awareness of bisexuality and bisexual people. Mayor Hanno Benz also described the action as a sign of tolerance, cosmopolitanism, and diversity in Darmstadt.

Bisexual Visibility Day – internationally known as "Celebrate Bisexuality Day" or "Bi Visibility Day" – has been observed on September 23rd The aim of this day of action is to increase the visibility of bisexual people and to raise awareness of their history, culture, and experiences.
The bi-flag consists of three colors: pink, purple, and blue. According to the city, pink represents same-sex love and blue represents opposite-sex love. The purple stripe in the middle symbolizes love for more than one gender.
