A comedy about intimacy, trust, and unusual encounters will be shown on November 14th at Paul's Kultur(t)raum
Theater Curioso will perform the comedy "The Dance Lesson" at the Stroh Dance School in Darmstadt-Eberstadt on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. At the invitation of Pauls Kultur(t)raum, Annette Potempa and Ulrich Sommer will bring to the stage a story about interpersonal relationships, misunderstandings, and the growing connection between two very different people.
"The Dance Lesson" tells the story of an unusual encounter
The comedy centers on Professor Ever Montgomery and his neighbor Senga Quinn. Ever is supposed to dance at an upcoming awards ceremony, but physical contact makes him uncomfortable. The highly intelligent professor also struggles with social cues and interpersonal relationships.
His neighbor Senga, who is also struggling with personal challenges, is supposed to teach him to dance. What begins as practical help develops into an encounter in which they both learn to connect with each other.
With humor and empathetic moments, the play deals with closeness, trust, love and the question of how people can find each other despite their differences.
Fittingly for the venue, after the performance there is no more just watching: those who wish can then take to the dance floor themselves.
