Registrations for the yard sale on August 9th are now open
Following the great success of previous years, the municipality of Bickenbach is once again hosting its yard sale in 2026. On Sunday, August 9th, yards, garages, and front gardens throughout the town will be transformed into small flea markets and meeting places for visitors from Bickenbach and the surrounding region.
Interested stallholders can register now. The registration deadline is July 12, 2026.
Flea market tour through all of Bickenbach
All registered vendor stalls will be published in an overview map after the registration deadline. This map is intended to help visitors plan their individual flea market route through Bickenbach.
The yard sale combines sustainability with neighborly exchange. Used items get a second chance, while numerous encounters and conversations create the event's special atmosphere.
Action area around the town hall
In addition to private flea market stalls, Bickenbach businesses, associations and political parties are also invited to participate after prior registration.
A central event area is being set up around the town hall square at Darmstädter Straße 7, offering food, drinks, and entertainment for all ages. Musical performers are currently being sought for the program.
Support for the radio play project "Bicky the Sand Rabbit"
This year's yard sale is once again linked to a local project. It supports the radio play project "Bicky the Sand Rabbit Discovers Bickenbach." Developed by Bickenbach sound engineer Mr. Spöhr, the project aims to introduce children and families to the community in an entertaining way.
The organizers welcome voluntary donations from stallholders and other supporters. A contribution of at least five euros per stall is recommended. Donations will be channeled through a dedicated campaign to fund the radio play project.
A regular part of the event calendar
Mayor Markus Hennemann describes the yard sale as now a permanent fixture on Bickenbach's event calendar. He says the event uniquely combines sustainability, neighborliness, and community spirit, and enjoys great popularity among both participants and visitors.
Further information regarding registration, the event schedule, and the fundraising campaign can be found on the Bickenbach municipality website. Questions can be directed to the public order office via email at ordnungsamt@bickenbach-bergstrasse.de.
