Three pedal tractors with trailers bring joy to the children
Great joy at the Kita Am Park in Riedstadt-Goddelau: The volunteer team of the Riedstadt repair café has purchased three new pedal tractors with trailers from donated funds and handed them over to the daycare center.
The new vehicles were officially presented at a general meeting of the daycare center. Amidst the cheers of the children, Adelina (6 years old), Giosuè (5 years old), and Tiana (2 years old) drove the new tractors around the assembled children and teachers.
Help for self-help with added social value
On site, Ute Nold-Stenzel, Michael Klosterhalfen, and Günter Kleinwächter from the Repair Café explained the idea behind their commitment to the children. The goal of the Repair Café is to prevent broken everyday items from being thrown away, but rather to repair them together with their owners, thus conserving resources.
The Repair Café opens its doors approximately every two months on Saturdays from 2 pm to 5 pm in the old town hall of Crumstadt. There, volunteer helpers assist residents with repairing broken household appliances and other items. The assistance is free of charge; only necessary spare parts need to be paid for.
Donations benefit children
The team regularly donates the proceeds from the donation box and revenue from coffee and cake sales to children's facilities in Riedstadt.
This time, the Am Park daycare center was the recipient. Daycare director Carolin Brückmann expressed her sincere thanks for the new vehicles. The three pedal tractors were deliberately chosen in different sizes so that children of all ages at the facility could use them.
Next Repair Café date
The next repair café will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 2 pm to 5 pm in the old town hall of Crumstadt at Poppenheimer Straße 1.
