Young trainees develop ideas for greater sustainability
The "Climate Scouts" project was successfully concluded with a closing event in Groß-Gerau. The program, funded by the Hessian State Energy Agency, was aimed at trainees in public administrations and municipal companies in southern Hesse.
Trainees from Bischofsheim involved
Trainees from the municipality of Bischofsheim in the Groß-Gerau district participated. The Groß-Gerau district adult education center supported the project as an educational partner and organized training days and coaching sessions.
The official certificate presentation ceremony took place at Dornberg Castle.
Insights into climate protection projects of the district
To kick things off, the participants visited the district administration office. There, staff from the climate protection department presented various measures implemented by the district. These included temperature monitoring areas for climate adaptation, green roofs, wildflower meadows, climate-resilient trees, and the district administration's electric vehicle fleet.
The canteen's organic food concept and a cargo bike available for loan were also presented.
Diverse ideas awarded
Following this, the trainees presented their own projects. The range extended from a regional cycling path concept and wildflower meadows to the modernization of municipal energy management systems.
Other projects focused on flea markets and swap meets, information campaigns for employees, and a climate kit for daycare centers.
Finally, District Administrator Thomas Will and David Stoitner from LEA Hessen presented the certificates to the participants.
