District Administrator Thomas Will welcomes young talent with a joint breakfast
County Commissioner Thomas Will welcomed the new trainees and students of the Groß-Gerau district administration with a joint breakfast . The traditional start to the introductory week offered the new recruits the opportunity to get to know the County Commissioner personally and to network with each other.
The new training group includes seven prospective administrative assistants, four dual students of Public Administrationwho previously completed their training with the district, one dual student of Social Work , and three vocational school interns in the field of administration.
The introductory week was organized by the Human Resources Development department. The new trainees are being accompanied by, among others, department head Kanya Pawlewicz-Rupp, head of the training and development section Jan Thomas , and Sonja Kliesing.
During breakfast, the participants took the opportunity to ask the district administrator questions. These included topics such as the motivation for pursuing an apprenticeship or studies with the district administration, the balancing act between politics and administration, and the expectations of citizens regarding a modern administration.
When asked about the biggest challenges of the coming years, Thomas Will cited in particular the further expansion of schools, dealing with the consequences of climate change, and the increasing social divide. He added that the strained financial situation of municipalities further complicates many tasks.
The introductory week includes a scavenger hunt through the building, numerous information sessions, and opportunities to get to know one another. It is designed to ease the transition for new trainees and students into the work of the district administration and to familiarize them with the structures and tasks of the administration.
