Around 40 exhibitors will present projects, offers and services at Friedensplatz
On Saturday, June 20, 2026, HEAG, together with the City of Darmstadt, will once again host the Urban Business Day at Friedensplatz. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., around 40 exhibitors will present their products, projects, and services. Admission is free.
The event brings together Darmstadt's municipal companies and numerous partners with citizens. Visitors can expect a diverse program of information and activities for the whole family.
Insights into the work of the city's economy
The official opening will take place at 11 a.m. by Mayor Hanno Benz. The event will be accompanied musically by musicians from the Academy of Music.
“Whether it’s a reliable energy supply, affordable housing, modern mobility, functioning infrastructure, or numerous other services – our municipal companies make an indispensable contribution to the quality of life in Darmstadt every day. The Day of Municipal Economy offers the opportunity to showcase this diversity and engage in dialogue with the people,” explains Mayor Hanno Benz.
HEAG also emphasizes the importance of municipal companies for the city's community. Board members Prof. Dr. Klaus-Michael Ahrend and Dr. Markus Hoschek point out that the day of action makes the diverse services provided by the city's economy tangible and promotes direct interaction with residents.
Numerous companies and institutions are represented
In addition to HEAG, other companies presenting at the event include ENTEGA, bauverein AG, HEAG mobilo, Klinikum Darmstadt, darmstadtium, Centralstation and several municipal enterprises of the city of Darmstadt.
At the Darmstadt booth, visitors can learn about the neighborhood app and the city's business portal. The Darmstadt Clinic and the Agaplesion Elisabethenstift will present the da Vinci surgical robot. The HUB31 technology and startup center will provide information about its activities to support startups.
Interactive activities for the whole family
The supporting program also offers numerous attractions. Among those present are the Darmstadt professional fire brigade, the city library's bookmobile, and the mobile fan shop of SV Darmstadt 98. Musical entertainment will be provided by the band "Walk-a-Tones".
Children can look forward to a bouncy castle, the mobile play unit, the teddy bear hospital, and the opportunity to create their own bottle garden.
