A multicultural cooking studio brings people and cultures together in Eberstadt
The multicultural cooking studio GARI BALDI invites you to its traditional summer barbecue on Thursday, June 25, 2026, in Darmstadt-Eberstadt. It starts at 5 p.m. in the South Community Center of the Evangelical Church of Darmstadt-Eberstadt, located at Stresemannstraße 1.
For over 20 years, GARI BALDI has been bringing people from diverse backgrounds together. The monthly meetings focus on cooking together, cultural exchange, and learning about different countries and traditions. The events take place on the last Thursday of each month and explore a variety of culinary and cultural themes.
Shared buffet instead of cooking together
The summer barbecue differs from the usual concept of the cooking studio. Instead of cooking together on site, the participants create an international buffet with dishes they have prepared themselves.
Salads, bread, sauces, and desserts are welcome. Grilled meat and drinks will be provided. Those who prefer vegetarian options are welcome to bring their own.
The concept aims to make the diversity of cultures visible while simultaneously promoting exchange between guests.
Integration and encounters for over 20 years
The project connects people of different generations and countries of origin. In addition to the culinary offerings, participants regularly gain insights into the cultural, social, and political characteristics of the respective host countries.
As a result, GARI BALDI has developed over the years into a regular meeting place for intercultural encounters in Darmstadt-Eberstadt.
Registration required by June 21st
For organizational reasons, registration, including a list of items to bring, is required by June 21, 2026. The necessary documents are available from the Caritas Center Eberstadt South and must also be returned there.
The contribution towards costs is six euros.
New cooperation partners welcome
The organizing team is also continuously seeking new cooperation partners who would like to present themselves, their culture or their organization at one of the upcoming cooking evenings and actively participate.
