HUB31 and TechQuartier agree on strategic cooperation for start-ups in the Rhine-Main region
The science city of Darmstadt and the city of Frankfurt am Main are expanding their collaboration in the area of business start-ups. The two start-up centers, HUB31 in Darmstadt and TechQuartier in Frankfurt, are entering into a strategic partnership. The aim is to further strengthen the start-up ecosystem in the Rhine-Main region and offer young companies better development opportunities.
The cooperation was presented by Darmstadt's mayor and head of economic affairs, Hanno Benz, and Frankfurt's mayor, Mike Josef. Both see the partnership as an important impetus for innovation, entrepreneurship, and the economic development of the region.
“The fact that our two startup centers will be working even more closely together in the future sends a strong signal for networking in the Rhine-Main region,” explains Hanno Benz. HUB31 and TechQuartier are among the key drivers of the regional startup scene. This collaboration is therefore an important step towards an even more vibrant innovation and entrepreneurial culture.
Combining the strengths of both locations
While Darmstadt is primarily known for its research landscape and technology-oriented start-ups, Frankfurt contributes its strength as a financial center to the cooperation.
“Frankfurt has a long tradition of financial expertise and excellent access to capital – a crucial factor in every phase of a startup’s life cycle,” emphasizes Mayor Mike Josef. This collaboration will allow founders from Darmstadt to benefit even more effectively from these opportunities in the future.
The partnership aims to combine the respective expertise of both locations and provide start-ups with easier access to networks, know-how and financing.
Strengthening the region as a leading startup location
Through this cooperation, both startup centers pursue the common goal of permanently establishing the Rhine-Main region as one of Germany's leading startup locations.
According to the cities, the two innovation centers will more closely integrate their networks in the future and strategically utilize the complementary strengths of both locations. This should give young companies better growth opportunities and simultaneously further strengthen the competitiveness of the entire region.
