City vouchers were raffled off and the local economy was strengthened
The town of Groß-Gerau has announced that the "Shop Local" campaign days for 2025 have been successfully completed. The campaign concluded with the presentation of the GG checks to the winners of the main prize draw.
This initiative strengthens local trade and gastronomy
This year, Groß-Gerau once again participated in the nationwide Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) action days, which aim to support local retailers and restaurants. Around 30 municipalities in southern Hesse took part. The city's economic development office and the local business association emphasized the importance of the campaign for the attractiveness of the city center and highlighted the supplementary city voucher program, the "GG-Scheck.".
This is how the campaign worked in Groß-Gerau
From September 12th to October 12th, 2025, customers at participating shops and restaurants received collector cards, which could be redeemed for a city voucher worth five euros by collecting five stickers. Each submitted collector card also automatically entered them into the main prize draw, where vouchers with a total value of 500 euros were given away.
Winners receive GG checks
Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau personally presented the city vouchers. He emphasized the importance of a vibrant city center for the quality of life in Groß-Gerau. Initiatives like "Shop Local" demonstrate how valuable shopping locally is for businesses, restaurants, and community spirit.
