Concert “¡Viva la música!” on June 27th in the Paul-Gerhardt-Church
The ESOC Chorus continues its musical tour of Europe and invites you to a special concert on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Paul Gerhardt Church in Darmstadt's Waldkolonie district. Under the title "¡Viva la música!", the choir will present a diverse program of music from Spain, Portugal, and Latin America.
After the choir had already dedicated itself musically to the Nordic countries as well as England, France and Italy in recent years, this time the sounds of the Iberian Peninsula and South America are the focus.
A sound journey from the Renaissance to the Samba
Under the direction of Kushtrim Gashi, the audience can expect a musical journey through different eras and regions. The program includes Renaissance madrigals, traditional folk songs, flamenco, samba, and contemporary classical compositions.
The choir will be accompanied by instrumentalists Mizuho Quaiser-Itakura on piano and Marcel Wollny on guitar. The concert will also feature solo instrumental pieces.
“Music from Spain, Portugal and Latin America touches hearts with its powerful emotionality and its captivating temperament,” explains choir director Kushtrim Gashi.
