General meeting decides to withdraw from federal association
The Marketing Club of Southern Hesse is realigning its focus. At the members' meeting on April 29, 2026, the members unanimously decided to withdraw from the Federal Association of Marketing Clubs (BVMC) at the end of the year.
The withdrawal also entails a name change: In the future, the association will operate under the name Marketing Community Südhessen eV.
Future focus will be entirely on the region
According to the board, the realignment is intended to allow for greater investment of financial resources and organizational resources in regional networking and in-house events.
“Now we as the Marketing Community South Hesse can use all our resources to expand our program and further develop our network in the region,” explained Managing Director Peter Lehr during the meeting.
The necessary amendment to the statutes was also unanimously approved. The new association will continue to be recognized as a professional association for marketing and communications.
Criticism of the lack of added value offered by the Federal Association
In a statement, the board justified the move by citing the lack of benefits associated with membership in the national association. Among the reasons given were rising association fees coupled with a lack of additional services.
According to the board, approximately €7,000 flowed annually in association fees and mandatory contributions. These funds will be used entirely for projects and services in southern Hesse in the future.
Furthermore, the club criticizes the fact that announced nationwide projects such as a central member platform or new programs have not brought any noticeable benefit to the club.
Further development of the network is planned
With the new structure, the Marketing Community South Hesse intends to focus even more strongly on events, regional collaborations and the expansion of the network in the region.
