Schuldorf Bergstraße wins school competition at Hofgut Kranichstein
At the Princely Garden Festival on the Kranichstein estate, the Bergstraße school village won first place in this year's school competition. The event attracted numerous visitors to Darmstadt from April 24th to 26th.
Thousands of guests and a diverse program
In spring-like weather, the grounds transformed into a large event space focused on garden culture, crafts, and leisure. More than 80 exhibitors presented plants, design objects, and handcrafted products from the region.
In addition to culinary offerings and music, equestrian demonstrations also provided entertainment over the weekend. Live music had already created a lively atmosphere on Friday.
Creative school competition as the highlight
A special highlight of the program was once again the primary school competition under the motto "Who can build the most beautiful scarecrow?". Students exhibited their creative works on the grounds.
The winning classes at a glance:
- Place: Schuldorf Bergstraße with “Danger Eagle”
- Place: Hans-Quick-School with "Otto"
- Place: Bergstraße school village with "holiday scarecrow Melissa"
In addition to monetary donations for their class funds, the winners received prizes. The children's program was supported by, among others, regional partners.
Garden party as a regular feature in the event calendar
The Princely Garden Festival is an established event series with several dates throughout the year. Following the event in Darmstadt, further venues will include Fasanerie Palace, Eberbach Monastery, and Wolfsgarten Palace.
With its combination of garden culture, regional commitment and creative participatory opportunities, the event once again demonstrates its importance for the region.
