From October 12th to 15th, the children's and youth services program offers excursions, nature activities and creative workshops – closing celebration on Friday
The Reinheim Children and Youth Services is offering an autumn holiday program for children aged six to twelve from October 12th to 15th, 2026. From Monday to Thursday, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., the program includes excursions, nature experiences, creative activities, and group activities. Participation costs five euros per child.
Finally, on Friday, October 16th, there will be a public and free family program with a children's show and reading session.
Fire brigade visit, forest hike and creative activities
At the beginning of the holiday week, the participating children are divided into two groups. Both groups complete a similar program, but the individual activities take place on different days.
Planned activities include a visit to the fire station, a hike in the woods, and a trip to the allotment garden "Die Laube". The fire station visit is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, for the two groups.
In addition, there will be creative activities and games, as well as cooking and barbecuing together. Mayor Manuel Feick describes the concept as a mix of outdoor activities, creative offerings, and shared experiences.
Since part of the program takes place outdoors, children should bring weatherproof clothing and suitable shoes. They will also need their own food and sufficient drinks for each day.
Free graduation party on October 16th
On Friday, October 16th, the children's and youth services department is hosting a free public closing afternoon for children and families. It starts at 1 p.m.
From 2 pm to 3 pm, Herbert Cartus will perform a children's show with music and magic. In case of bad weather, the performance will be moved to the Heinrich-Klein-Saal.
From 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., a reading session will take place in cooperation with the city library. Stick bread and marshmallows will be provided. There is no participation fee for the program on Friday.
