Successes in Ober-Ramstadt, Bessungen and Karlsruhe – the hill climb time trial marks the end of the season for the triathlon department
The triathletes of SG Arheilgen competed in several running events over the weekend of September 19th and 20th. Their achievements included victories at the Ober-Ramstadt City Run and the Bessungen Merck Road Race, as well as a podium finish in their age group at the Baden Marathon in Karlsruhe. The weekend concluded with the club's traditional hill climb time trial.
Jan Ripper competed in the 5-kilometer race at the 4th Owweremschdä City Run in Ober-Ramstadt on Saturday. With a time of 20:47 minutes, he won the men's race among a total of 44 participants and also took first place in his age group.
Simone Barabas takes second place overall in Bessungen
Also on Saturday, Simone Barabas and Anselm Schüle participated in the 37th Bessunger Merck Road Race. Barabas completed the 5.3 kilometers in 23:49 minutes. This earned her first place in her age group and second place overall among 58 women.
Anselm Schüle started the ten-kilometer race and finished in 44:34 minutes .
Two more races followed on Sunday. Jutta Cymanek ran the marathon distance at the Baden Marathon in Karlsruhe in 4:02:17 hours , achieving third place in her age group. Axel Reinhardt completed the half marathon at the Kassel Marathon in 1:37:54 hours.
Hill climb time trial to conclude the season
Alongside the away competitions, the triathlon section of SG Arheilgen held its traditional hill climb time trial on Sunday to conclude the season. This year, twelve SGA members took to the course against the clock. Other current and former members attended the event.
At the finish line, the group traditionally met for coffee and cake before going together to the Ratskeller for the finale.
