8th place in Taunusstein – strong individual times in several competitions on June 15th
A successful competition weekend for the triathlon division of SGA Darmstadt: At the 5th Hessenliga on Sunday, June 15, 2025, the men's team secured 8th place in Taunusstein – a solid result in a challenging field of competitors. Despite a cool 17 degrees Celsius, wind, and rain, the four athletes demonstrated excellent teamwork on the demanding course in the Taunus mountains.
The competition began in the morning with a 1-kilometer swim, followed by a 40-kilometer bike course with approximately 750 meters of elevation gain , and a final 10-kilometer run. All athletes finished healthy and delivered strong individual performances.
- Axel Reinhardt: 02:21:39 hours
- Anselm Schüle: 02:25:40 hours
- Guido Götz: 02:43:41 hours
- Lukas Beckmann: 02:51:43 hours
Deployments also took place in Babenhausen and Steinbeck
At the same time, Torsten Velde and Karsten Herisch competed for SGA in the 2nd Hessenliga at the Moret Triathlon in Babenhausen . They completed the classic Olympic distance (1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run) in the following times:
- Torsten Velde: 02:53:50 hours
- Karsten Herisch: 03:01:58 hours
SGA was also represented by individual competitors: Kathrin and Marcus Ortland participated in the "Steelman" triathlon in Steinbeck . Kathrin Ortland completed the Olympic distance in 3:10:11 hours and took second place in her age group . Marcus Ortland mastered the long distance (1.5 km swim, 70 km bike, 21 km run) in 4:34:35 hours .
SGA triathletes show themselves to be in top form
With numerous starts, personal bests, and age group placements, the SGA triathlon department is on a promising course for the rest of the season. The combination of team strength and individual talent will continue to distinguish the SGA team in 2025.
