Network ROPE invites you to the free prevention project “Dance Frenzy” on July 17th
Through music, movement, and community, the ROPE e.V. network aims to inspire young people to embrace a healthy lifestyle. On Friday, July 17th , from 4 pm to 8 pm, the open dance workshop "Dance Frenzy – Beats, Moves & Good Vibes" will take place at Luisenplatz . Participation is free, and registration is not required.
The event is part of the "Rauschzeit", through which the ROPE network aims to raise awareness among young people about health, leisure activities, and addiction prevention in an accessible way. No prior knowledge is required for the workshop.
Under the direction of dancer Deborah Mintah-Oberüber, participants develop choreographies together. Staff from the "Rauschzeit" project are also available for discussions about healthy leisure activities, mental health, and addiction prevention.
“With Tanzrausch, young people are invited to try things out, to move together, and to experience how music, dance, and community connect people and give them new energy. For us, prevention also means creating spaces where positive experiences, encounters, and participation are possible,” explains Darmstadt’s Mayor and Head of Social Services, Barbara Akdeniz. The city of Darmstadt supports the prevention work of the ROPE network.
The program focuses on a modern approach to addiction prevention. Instead of deterrence, the project emphasizes positive experiences, participation, and self-efficacy. The joy of physical activity and shared experiences are intended to empower young people and show them attractive alternatives for their leisure time.
Further information is available from the addiction prevention unit of the ROPE network by telephone on 06151 1364771 or 0157 8069725.
