Free excursion showcases the diversity of plants and animals in the city
The Environmental Office of the City of Darmstadt, the BUND Darmstadt and the Adult Education Center invite you to a joint excursion on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 6 p.m. entitled “Discovering urban nature on a walk – Seeing new perspectives of our city and becoming active for nature”.
The free event is aimed at all those interested in experiencing nature in urban areas from a new perspective.
Biodiversity in the heart of the city
During the walk, participants learn more about the fascinating flora and fauna in the city. It becomes clear how diverse life can be in urban parks, green spaces, and along roadsides.
The excursion provides fascinating information about native plants and animals and highlights the importance of their habitats. Furthermore, it presents ways in which citizens can actively contribute to the protection of urban nature.
Meeting point in the Martinsviertel
The meeting point for the event is Schlossgartenplatz in the Martinsviertel district, in the immediate vicinity of the Pallaswiesenstraße tram stop.
Participation in the excursion is free of charge.
