Podium finishes and strong performances at competitions in Hesse and Spain
The triathlon department of SG Arheilgen has had a successful weekend in sports. Athletes competed in several events in Hesse as well as at the European Championships in Tarragona, Spain, achieving strong results.
Senior team starts at the Erich Fill Triathlon
On Saturday, June 13th, a team from SG Arheilgen competed in the 2nd Senior League at the Erich Fill Triathlon in Taunusstein. The race consisted of a one-kilometer swim, a 40-kilometer bike ride, and a ten-kilometer run.
Guido Götz, Kai Henning, Marcus Ortland and Sascha Prehn competed for SG Arheilgen. All four athletes competed in the M50 age group.
European Championship in Spain
Also on Saturday, Eva Riedl represented SG Arheilgen at the Europe Triathlon Age-Group Championships in Tarragona, Spain.
In the sprint distance race, consisting of a 750-meter swim, a 20-kilometer bike ride, and a five-kilometer run, she reached the finish line after 1:27:09 hours.
Half marathon at the Eschathlon
On Sunday, June 14th, Jens Preis participated in the Eschathlon in Eschborn in the M40 age group. He completed the half marathon (21.1 kilometers) in a time of 1:39:36 hours.
Podium finishes at the Melibokus Run
Also on Sunday, Ulrike Bickert, Jutta Cymanek, and Conny Thiele participated in the 55th Melibokus Run in Alsbach-Hähnlein. The challenging course covered 21.1 kilometers and approximately 640 meters of elevation gain.
Conny Thiele reached the finish line after 1:55:57 hours, securing first place in her age group W50.
Jutta Cymanek finished second in her age group with a time of 2:05:17. Ulrike Bickert crossed the finish line after 2:25:57.
With several podium finishes and a successful participation in the European Championships, the triathlon department of SG Arheilgen looks back on an eventful and successful competition weekend.
