The penultimate charity tournament of the WIEST GROUP delights participants – tour finale on August 9th in Gernsheim
Groß-Zimmern. Despite changeable weather conditions, around 60 golfers gathered at Golf Sport Park Groß-Zimmern on Tuesday, August 5th, for the penultimate tournament of the WCGTour 2025. The charity tour, organized by the WIEST GROUP, made its second stop this season at the Zimmern Golf Club – a long-standing partner of the tournament series.
The 9-hole tournament was played in the "foursomes with alternate drive" format and was once again dedicated to a good cause. Although the tournament began with a rain shower at 5 p.m., sunshine, wind, and further showers alternated – but this did not dampen the spirits of the participants. Around 7:30 p.m., the last groups returned to the clubhouse satisfied and in good spirits.
Awards ceremony and donations for seriously ill children
At the evening event on the terrace of Luigi's Golf Restaurant, the top teams in the gross and net categories were awarded large gift baskets from EDEKA Patschull , vouchers, and other prizes from the tour partners. In the gross category , Sven Lehr and Jesco Neumeyer , both from the Zimmern Golf Club, secured the tournament victory and thus qualified for the tour final in Gernsheim.
The charity aspect was also a success: 4 birdies, 34 pars, and 87 bogeys generated €97.50 in donations, which was then doubled by the tour partners. Together with an additional €652.50 in voluntary donations, the event raised a total of €847.50 for the Association for Children with Cancer and Chronic Illnesses Darmstadt / Rhine-Main-Neckar (VKKD) .
Tour concludes on August 9th in Gernsheim
The highlight of this year's WCGTour is just around the corner: On Saturday, August 9th , the grand finale tournament will take place at the Gernsheim Hof Gräbenbruch Golf Resort – traditionally the crowning finale of the popular charity tournament series. The event at the GOLF absolute course is already fully booked. The check presentation to the VKKD will also take place during the evening celebration .
