Open discussion round on October 29th at the Heiner-Lehr-Zentrum
What problems exist in the Martinsviertel district, where is there room for improvement, and what wishes do residents have for the city administration? Citizens can discuss these questions directly with Darmstadt's Mayor Hanno Benz on Thursday, October 29, 2026. The next event in the "Mayor on Location" series begins at 6 p.m. at the Heiner Lehr Center, Kopernikusplatz 1.
Interested parties can personally voice their questions, suggestions, and concerns at the open discussion. Registration is not required.
Citizens can directly address questions and suggestions
The event focuses on an exchange between the residents of the Martinsviertel district and the mayor. This provides an opportunity to address both specific problems within the district and general questions about the development of Darmstadt.
The aim is to discuss together where action is needed and what options the city administration has to address the concerns of the citizens.
“Everyone in the Martinsviertel district should feel: your experience counts, your opinion counts. Direct, on-site exchange is irreplaceable,” explains Mayor Hanno Benz.
With this offer of dialogue, the city aims to strengthen personal contact with the population and directly incorporate suggestions from the city districts.
Requests can be submitted in advance
Anyone wishing to raise a specific issue can submit their request to the city administration before the event.
You have until Monday, October 26, 2026, to send an email to buergerbeauftragte@darmstadt.de
Alternatively, requests can be submitted in the town hall foyer.
Prior registration for the discussion is not necessary. Citizens who have not submitted their questions in advance are also invited to participate.
Further public dialogues until the end of the year
The event in the Martinsviertel district is part of the city's dialogue initiatives, which will continue until the end of the year. In addition to "Mayor on Location," five further citizen dialogues are planned.
The city is relying on both personal consultation opportunities in the city districts and digital participation options.
“We want to be there for the citizens. Therefore, we will continue our dialogue formats in the city districts and in the digital space and look forward to direct exchange with the citizens,” Benz emphasizes.
