Conclusion of the inner-city project “Griesheim. Inside” with interactive activities and an exhibition
Griesheim. The town of Griesheim invites everyone to the "Mit(te) gemacht!" (roughly translated as "Making it happen!" ) event on Saturday, August 9 , from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Georg-Schüler-Anlage and Georg-Schüler-Platz, surrounding the Georg-August-Zinn-Haus, will host the finale of the "Griesheim. Innen Drin" (Griesheim. Inside) project . The day marks the festive conclusion of the two-year project, which was carried out as part of the federal funding program "Sustainable City Centers and Town Centers" .
Focus on the results of citizen participation
A central element of the event is the presentation of the results of the online participation process , in which over 40 proposed measures for inner-city development were put to a vote. In addition , all measures supported by the funding program will be presented on-site , including mobile street furniture and multifunctional trailers, which will be demonstrated in operation.
An exhibition in the Georg-August-Zinn-Haus provides information about the entire project, the participation formats, as well as the background and goals of “Griesheim. Inside”.
A diverse program for all generations
The supporting program for the day of action is aimed at all age groups:
- Interactive activities, e.g. football acrobatics and flower crown workshop
- Face painting and a large giant slide on the lawn in front of the Georg-August-Zinn-Haus
- Food stalls with food and drinks
Background: Citizens' ideas for a vibrant city center
With the project "Griesheim. Inside," the city aims to make its city center more attractive and livable in the long term. The project was based on a broad participatory process, guided by the city's principles for effective citizen participation . At the first action day, "Griesheim Gets Involved," on June 3, 2023, numerous ideas were collected. These were subsequently refined digitally via an idea map , in workshops, and through the city's idea management system. Forty of these ideas were submitted to a final online vote , the results of which are now being presented to the public.
