Darmstadt's city leaders invite you to a direct exchange at the Golden Lion on November 17th
What developments are underway in Arheilgen? What are the concerns of the residents, and where do they see room for improvement? The Arheilgen district forum on Tuesday, November 17, 2026, aims to provide answers to these questions. The City of Darmstadt invites citizens to the Golden Lion Hall at Frankfurter Landstraße 153 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
At this event, residents of Arheilgen will have the opportunity to speak directly with Darmstadt's city leaders, ask questions, and contribute their own suggestions. Registration is not required.
The mayor and department heads will answer questions
The district forum will be attended by Mayor Hanno Benz, Deputy Mayor Barbara Akdeniz, and city councilors Michael Kolmer, Holger Klötzner, and Paul Georg Wandrey.
They provide information about ongoing projects in Arheilgen and are available to answer questions and receive suggestions. At the same time, the city wants to learn which issues are particularly important to local residents and where they see a need for action.
“In Arheilgen, many people are involved in clubs and local businesses – many take care of their neighbors in their immediate surroundings. We want to hear from these people, and we want to know how and where the city can better support them,” explains Mayor Hanno Benz.
The aim is to enable a constructive exchange between citizens, politicians and administration.
Requests can be submitted in advance
Anyone with questions, wishes or suggestions regarding the district forum can submit them to the city administration in advance.
Until Thursday, November 12, 2026, requests can be sent by email to buergerbeauftragte@darmstadt.de or deposited in the town hall foyer.
Of course, there is also the opportunity to raise topics and ask questions during the district forum.
Prior registration for the event is not necessary.
Further public dialogues until the end of the year
The district forum in Arheilgen is part of a series of participatory initiatives with which the science city of Darmstadt aims to strengthen direct contact between the population, politics and administration.
In addition to the district forums, this includes the event series "Mayor on Location" and a digital discussion format on Instagram.
“Direct interaction with people is of particular value – it brings administration and citizens directly together, promotes dialogue and creates new insights and perspectives,” emphasizes Mayor Benz.
The city aims to give as many people as possible the opportunity to voice their concerns through various discussion formats.
The next opportunity for interaction, "OB Live," will take place on Thursday, November 19, 2026, at 7 p.m. Interested individuals can engage in conversation with the mayor via the city's Instagram channel.
