How should the Riedbahn district of Weiterstadt develop in the coming years? What measures are planned, and how can residents participate? An information event on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the Riedbahn Youth Center (JUZE) will provide answers to these questions. The City of Weiterstadt, the neighborhood management team, and DSK invite you to learn about the current status of the Integrated Urban Development Concept (ISEK) and to help shape the future development of the district.
Over the past few months, numerous people from the Riedbahn area have contributed ideas, suggestions, and personal commitment to the development of the concept. Now, initial results will be presented and the next steps explained.
Initial measures are to be implemented
The Integrated Urban Development Concept forms the basis for the future development of the district. It brings together ideas and measures designed to strengthen and further develop the Riedbahn area in the long term.
At the information event, those responsible will present initial measures that will now be implemented step by step.
Furthermore, it explains how the urban development program “Social Cohesion” will be continued in the Riedbahn area and what further steps are planned.
The event thus offers an opportunity to gain an overview of the results achieved so far and the next phases of urban development.
Citizens can contribute their own project ideas
A particular focus is placed on opportunities for citizen participation.
Even after the development concept has been drawn up, the people from Riedbahn should be able to actively participate in shaping their district.
One option is a so-called discretionary fund. This instrument can be used to support local project ideas from within the neighborhood.
The event will explain how the fund can be used in the future and what participation opportunities are planned.
Local partnership accompanies the development
In addition to the discretionary fund, the so-called Local Partnership plays an important role.
It is intended to be a permanent advisory body and to accompany the further development of the district.
This is intended to ensure that the interests and suggestions of local people can be taken into account in the next steps of the funding program.
The information event will present how interested citizens can get involved in these structures in the future.
Information and exchange at the JUZE Riedbahn
The event is aimed at all people who are interested in the future of the Riedbahn railway.
