Sixteen artists are exhibiting works from more than three decades in the FoyerGalerie BehindART.
The Villa Luce summer workshop is the focus of an exhibition in the FoyerGalerie BehindART at Darmstadt's Stadthaus III. Titled "Our Time with Art," the exhibition features paintings, sculptures, and a life-size plaster figure, which opened on October 27, 2026, and runs until March 19, 2027.
Summer Workshop Villa Luce: Art and Encounter since 1993
The summer workshop is a program offered by Lebenshilfe Main-Taunus and has been a place for creative expression and collaborative artistic work for 33 years. The exhibition brings together works from 1993 to the present day. Extensive documentation folders trace the development – from its beginnings in the kitchen and outdoors to the art group's current work.
Among the founders were Eva Keller-Welsch and Christa Klose. Today, Asli Temiz leads the group. Freelance artist Michael Jäck also supported the workshop for many years on a voluntary basis. He and Christa Klose are exhibiting their own paintings in the exhibition.
Works by 16 artists
The exhibition features works by Beate Anaskewitz, Doris Schwager, Heike Simon, Ravi Arora, Andrea Martin, Gerd Grünhagen, Waldemar Kozuschek, Rolf Trappen, Christa Klose, Heidemarie Giersch, Michael Jäck, Nora Dillmann, and Manfred Scholz. It also includes works by the late Hedwig Wohlfahrt, Angela Dörr, and Martin Herpel.
The event is organized by the Paritätische Hessen (a social welfare organization) as part of its inclusive art initiative BehindART. In cooperation with the city of Darmstadt, it makes the artistic work of people with disabilities accessible to a broad public.

The exhibition is on display in the FoyerGalerie BehindART at Stadthaus III, Frankfurter Straße 71 in Darmstadt. Opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
