156 sales stands and a colorful program around the town hall on August 9th
On Sunday, August 9th , Bickenbach will once again transform into a large yard sale. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. , 156 private stalls throughout the municipality invite visitors to browse, discover, and connect with one another. The event will be complemented by a diverse program of activities in front of the town hall.
At stalls in courtyards, garages, and on private properties, clothing, books, toys, household goods, decorations, and many other secondhand items are offered. The yard sale combines sustainable shopping with neighborly exchange.
"The huge response shows how popular the Bickenbach yard sale has become. With 156 registered stalls, visitors can look forward to an exceptionally diverse range of goods. What's particularly nice is that it's not just about buying and selling, but also about people chatting with each other all over town," says organizer Jacqueline Gönner.
Music and interactive activities on the town hall square
Alongside the yard sale, visitors can expect a full day of entertainment in the town hall square. Musical entertainment will be provided by the band De Roode Pelikan from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM , the Bickenbach Accordion Ensemble from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM , and then by the band Die Miniband from Alsbach-Hähnlein until 5:00 PM
In addition, the following organizations will be presenting themselves: Antenne Bergstraße radio station, the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (Workers' Samaritan Association) with their "Wünschewagen" (Wishes on Wheels) service, the Bickenbach municipal library, the South Hesse Police Headquarters, the Beckebächer Kerb, Brau Dich! (Brew Yourself!) , and the Röderhof. The event will also feature information booths, food, and drinks.
Mayor Markus Hennemann sees the yard sale as an important contribution to community life: "The yard sale shows Bickenbach from its particularly lively and welcoming side. It brings people from the entire community together, strengthens the neighborhood and gives well-preserved items a second chance."
