The Eberstadt CDU welcomes the commitment from transport commissioner Paul Georg Wandrey to build a new roundabout at the intersection of Pfungstädter Straße and Reuterallee . Wandrey personally inspected the site with the Eberstadt CDU board and confirmed the roundabout as the basis for future reconstruction
The intersection has been considered confusing, especially for pedestrians and cyclists. According to the CDU Eberstadt, a roundabout could clearer traffic flow, lower speeds , and significantly improved safety .

“For us, people’s safety is paramount,” emphasizes Peter Franz, chairman of the CDU Eberstadt. The existing roundabout in the district already demonstrates how well this solution works: clear traffic flow, improved clarity for all road users , and a harmonious integration into the surrounding urban environment. These positive effects are now expected to be replicated at Pfungstädter Straße and Reuterallee.
Franz adds: “A roundabout slows down traffic, organizes it, and at the same time contributes to a more pleasant cityscape. This is the path to a peaceful mobility that benefits all road users.”
Part of a larger transport concept
The CDU Eberstadt views the planned roundabout not as an isolated measure, but as a component of a balanced traffic concept . The aim is to reduce danger points , avoid conflicts , and create practical solutions for everyday life
With the local elections in March 2026 , the district association emphasizes that traffic safety and a harmonious appearance of public spaces are among the most important concerns for many citizens in Eberstadt. Modern roundabouts could make a visible contribution to this.
“The newly promised roundabout shows what pragmatic planning can look like,” said Franz. “Safe, clearly structured and understandable for everyone – that’s exactly what’s needed in other parts of the district.”
