Hessen Mobil will be carrying out maintenance work from November 9th to 13th – detours via the B 449 and Waschenbach will be in place
Motorists should expect nighttime traffic disruptions on Federal Highway 426 next week. Due to scheduled maintenance work, the Lohberg Tunnel will be completely closed to traffic every night between Monday, November 9th, and Friday, November 13th, 2026.
The closures begin around 8 p.m. and last until 5 a.m. the following morning. The tunnel should be open to traffic again during the day.
Cleaning and inspection of tunnel technology
During the nightly closures, Hessen Mobil carries out the regularly scheduled cleaning and maintenance work in the Lohberg tunnel.
Furthermore, functional tests of the technical equipment are on the agenda. These works serve to ensure the operational safety of the tunnel.
A complete closure of the tunnel section is required for the work to be carried out.
Detours in both directions
During the works, road users will be directed via signposted diversion routes.
Those traveling towards Darmstadt will be diverted via the B 449 federal highway.
For traffic heading towards Ober-Ramstadt, the diversion route runs via Waschenbach on the district road K 138, then via Frankenhausen on the K 137 and further via Nieder-Modau on the state road L 3099.
Motorists should allow extra travel time during nighttime closures.
