Specialists provide information about emergencies in infants and toddlers
When children explore their environment, minor and major accidents are often not far away. To prepare parents for potential emergencies, the Darmstadt Clinic invites them to an information evening about pediatric emergencies on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
The event starts at 6 pm in the lecture hall of the Darmstadt Clinic at Grafenstraße 9. Registration is not required.
Common emergencies and correct responses
The neonatology team provides information on typical emergency situations involving infants and toddlers. These include falls, scalds, swallowed objects, and other everyday hazards.
Specialist physicians Dr. Georg Frey and Dr. Thomas Weissig will explain how risks can be avoided and how parents can react correctly in emergency situations. There will also be an opportunity to ask individual questions.
An insight into neonatology
Following the lecture, participants can learn more about the work of the neonatology department at the Darmstadt Clinic.
The Neonatology Clinic is part of the Princess Margaret Children's Hospital in Darmstadt and, together with the obstetrics department, forms the Level I Perinatal Center of Southern Hesse. There, premature and newborn infants as well as high-risk pregnancies are cared for around the clock by specialized teams.
Also interesting for grandparents
The information evening is not only aimed at parents of newborns and infants. Grandparents and anyone interested in learning more about childhood emergencies and first aid measures are also welcome.
More dates planned
Further information evenings on the topic of pediatric emergencies are already scheduled for September 16th and December 2nd, 2026.
