Competitions, team spirit and a silver medal characterized the weekend in Limburg
For nine children and four chaperones from TV Seeheim, a special weekend began on Friday, May 15, 2026. Early in the morning, the group met at the train station in Bickenbach to depart together for the state children's gymnastics festival in Limburg. Equipped with sleeping mats, luggage, and plenty of anticipation, the adventure began.
A difficult start with minor mishaps
Even the journey there turned into the first adventure. After traveling to Frankfurt, the connecting train to Limburg was cancelled at short notice. Instead of continuing directly, the group had to make alternative plans. They used the extra waiting time wisely: they braided competition hairstyles and their anticipation for the first competitions grew even stronger.
The gymnasts finally arrived in Limburg about an hour and a half late. But even on the way to the competition hall in Eschhofen, further obstacles awaited them. A suitcase handle broke off and the sole came loose from one of the gym shoes. Despite this, their spirits remained high.
Silver medal at the start
Barely arrived, the first competition began. Despite the arduous journey, the team and their coach delivered a strong performance in the "All-In" competition.
The joy was correspondingly great when the result was announced: silver for TV Seeheim and thus a successful start to the weekend.
After the first competition, the group moved on to the Peter-Paul-Cahensly School, which served as their accommodation for two nights. While some children were able to take a short break, others already had further competitions scheduled.
Opening ceremony and many hands-on activities
The grand opening ceremony of the state children's gymnastics festival provided some special moments in the evening. Music, numerous children's groups, and a colorful supporting program created a unique atmosphere.
A highlight for the Seeheim group was the performance of the "Ropidz", who received much applause for their show.
Saturday was dedicated to group activities. During a city rally through Limburg, the children completed various team-building and skill-based challenges. The handstand test was especially popular.
In the afternoon, further competitions and numerous participatory activities were on the program at the gymnastics festival grounds. The air track quickly became a favorite spot for many participants.
Team spirit will be remembered
On Sunday, it was finally time to say goodbye. After packing, there was still time for a few more activities before the journey home began. The train ride from Frankfurt to Bickenbach turned out to be a particular highlight. Together with other clubs, there was singing, dancing, and the official festival dance was performed once again with great enthusiasm.
For TV Seeheim, the shared experiences will be remembered most, in addition to the sporting successes. The children supported each other, helped one another, and grew even closer over the course of the weekend.
The 2026 State Children's Gymnastics Festival will therefore be remembered not only because of the competitions and successes, but above all because of the special team spirit and many shared moments.
